Solicitation of Resumes
Theater by the Book invites South Florida actors and singers to send us their resumes and headshots.
Our 2008 lineup includes book-in-hand presentations of great classic plays and contemporary plays with classic stature, from both the European and the American Theater.
Included are: Our Town by Thornton Wilder, The Book of Ruth by Mario Diament, Lorenzaccio by Alfred de Musset in John Strand's adaptation, Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand in Frank Langella's adaptation, Mary Stuart by Schiller, Life's Dreaming by Calderón de la Barca and Shakespeare's Henry Fourth, parts one and two, both in Rafael de Acha's adaptations; and a special concert presentation titled Shakespeare goes to the Opera, featuring sections from operas based on Shakespeare plays and their original sources.
Each reading will be rehearsed for approximately 20 hours during one week and presented twice on the same day.
We invite all South Florida actors, AEA - or not - to make contact with us via email and attach their resumes and headshots. We will be working with an AEA Reading contract and there will be a modest honorarium for all participants.
Thanks for your attention.

"Yome, Yome, sing me a song of what the little girl wants...
The girl wants a pair of shoes so we have to go to the shoemaker.
No, Mama, no... You don't understand me...That's not what I meant!"
